His pastoral experience includes service as Minister to Collegians at Glendale Pres. Church, associate minister in Tulsa, and pastor of the Baptist Church in Ramona, CA.
His gifts in the area of counseling were so evident, he eventually left the pastorate to become a full-time Marriage and Family Therapist. Before coming to Charis, Frank was in private practice as a Christian Psychotherapist and Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Care at Bethel Seminary, where he administered the seminary's psychological testing programs.
Since moving to Wake Forest, Frank has conducted numerous two-week "Intensives," has developed a private practice, and has been an adjunctive professor at Bethel Theological Seminary in the Doctor of Ministry program at their campuses in Minneapolis and San Diego.
Frank and his wife, Susan, a nurse at Duke University Hospital, are the parents of three daughters. Dad plays racquetball and tennis, serves as a leader in a national group of caregivers, and teaches a Sunday School class at Wake Forest Baptist Church.
Larry has served as a pastor in his home of California and in Oregon. He presently teaches at his home church and the McKenzie Study Center where he serves as an associate staff member. His teaching focuses on the gospel and its relationship to intellectual and emotional health and personal responsibility.
Larry has been a counselor for the past eighteen years. He is a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist in California, and provides pastoral counseling as well.. Larry and his wife Christine have a private practice in Eugene, Oregon. Larry provides counseling to individuals and couples who struggle with a variety of issues.
In addition for his passion for basketball, Larry is an avid white-water rafter.
Christine enjoys teaching seminars and courses for community colleges and special interest groups. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon.
Christine loves the water, kayaking, bike riding, walking and gardening.
Christine and Larry were married in 1978 as best friends and remain so. They enjoy their three children, their mutual careers as counselors, and the outdoors together.
