Dr. Frank Green, D.Min., LMFT
Dr. Frank P. Green is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and North Carolina, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Frank has also served in several pastoral capacities (Minister to Collegians, Minister of Education, and Lead Pastor) in Disciple of Christ, Presbyterian, and Baptist Churches over a 16 year period of time. After leaving pastoral ministry in 1980 he served several years as the Director of Psychological Testing at Bethel West Seminary, and taught courses at Bethel West and, upon coming to North Carolina, at Southeastern Baptist Seminary (Pastoral Care, Self-Understanding, Group Counseling, Case Studies, Contemporary Social Issues). A founding member of Charis since 1987, Frank has conducted seminars for leadership personal across the United States, and provides “Short Term Intensives” for church and secular leadership. In addition to these activities, Dr. Green remains active teaching seminars and classes in the Doctor of Ministry program at Bethel Seminary and the Hybrid Masters program at George Fox Evangelical Seminary, where he also taught in the Doctor of Ministry program for 17 years. Frank provides therapy and counseling for community clients, dealing with a wide range of presenting issues, at the Charis Wellness and Counseling Center, and is a Certified Supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselor Associates. He has served as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist for almost 4 decades. Frank holds a BA from Westmont College, M.Div. and D. Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and an M.A in Counseling Psychology from National University. He is a Clinical Member of The American Association Of Marriage Family Therapist, and The North Carolina Association Of Marriage Family Therapist. Frank is married to Susan. They have three daughters, 8 grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Frank and Susan have lived and served in Wake Forest, since 1990.
Dr. Corinne Green, Ph.D., LP, HSP-P
Dr. Corinne Green was born and lived her childhood years in San Diego, CA, before her family relocated to Wake Forest, NC. She completed her undergraduate education at UNCW and graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors, earning a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Vocal Performance. Dr. Green returned to CA for graduate training where she studied Psychology and Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. After seven years of graduate school, she graduated in 2007 with a Masters in Psychology, a Masters in Theology, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Green completed her Doctoral Internship at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute, an APA accredited placement, where she was trained extensively in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. She then received additional post-doctoral training at Real Connections Child Development Institute in Monrovia, CA using DIRFloortime approach in working with special needs children and their families. Dr. Corinne Green returned to NC in 2008 and has been recognized by the North Carolina Board of Psychology as a Licensed Psychologist and Health Services Provider-Psychologist. Since that time she has been working in private practice as an outpatient provider for children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families. She is recognized by the Interdisciplinary Counsel on Developmental and Learning as a DIRFloortime Expert Training Leader (see www.icdl.com). Dr. Green is married and is the mother of three boys and one daughter.

Julia Wheeler, LCMHC, NCC, Program Director
Julia Wheeler is a person with significant experiences and skills in working with people. It is because of these skills that, not only is she a valued member of our counseling team but she is also the Program Director for Charis Foundation. As such she plays a significant role in the daily details in all Charis counseling programs, i.e. counseling for those in professional ministry, community clients, autism, art therapy, etc. Her first career was as a licensed Interior Designer for which she received her training at Texas Christian University. Julia also did graduate studies in the humanities at the University of Richmond and has an extensive background in art and music. Because of her considerable artistic abilities and skills Julia is pursuing her certificate in art therapy and leads our art therapy program, which includes various activities such as seminars and group sessions. Her work with children through adults reflects all her considerable skills. She received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina Central University in August 2015 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition, she has received training in play therapy. Her memberships in professional organizations include the American Counseling Association (ACA) www.counseling.org, the American Association of Art Therapy (AAAT), the Association for Play Therapy (APT) www.a4pt.org.

Robert L Stuckey, MSW, LCSW
Robert (RL) Stuckey is a licensed clinical social worker who has had the opportunity to serve others in both the public and private sectors. Robert was born in Oklahoma and spent his early developmental years in rural and urban areas around Oklahoma City. After moving to North Carolina, Robert and his family lived in and around Raleigh until graduating from High School in Oxford NC. Robert had the privilege to study and earn a BA in Anthropology at a small liberal arts university in Oklahoma, where he began his journey of developing cultural competence. Robert served as a social service specialist with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services until deciding to work towards gaining a master of education and license in secondary socials studies education through the University of Oklahoma. Uncertain of his direction for the future, Robert placed his studies on hold and returned with his family to Raleigh after having his first child. While working towards discovering his occupational passion, Robert worked for Starbucks Coffee Company as a retail store manager where he met and exceeded expectations not only in business but in staff development. This position allowed Robert to discover his passion for helping to facilitate growth and discovery within others. Robert graduated with a Master of Social Work with a military sub concentration from the University of Southern California. Robert currently works in behavioral health empowering others to not be stifled by anxiety, depression, addiction, family/relational conflict, trauma and other organic mental health challenges such as bipolar and schizophrenia. Robert works with individuals, couples and families from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic and oriented life courses.

It does not occur only in the relationship between the seeker and therapist or between group members, but in the daily relational interactions, difficult decisions and practice of skills that build the physical, spiritual and emotional health of the persons seeking change."

Erin Benjamin, LCMHC-A, MASF
Erin Benjamin grew up in Charlotte, NC and now resides in Wake Forest with her 5 children. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Southern Wesleyan University, her M.A. in Spiritual Formation with a certification in Spiritual Direction from George Fox Seminary, and her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Seminary. Erin is credentialed by the National Board of Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor. She was the Executive Director of Equipping Lydia Center for Spiritual Renewal and Training. She is under direct supervision of Charis' founder, Dr. Frank Green.

Larry Barber, Pastoral Counselor
Larry has been employed by Charis Foundation since 1994. In a ministerial capacity, Larry offers faith-based pastoral counseling. Larry holds a undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies from Biola University. In addition, he completed a rigorous two year biblical exegesis curriculum from the Scribe School of Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California. He graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the Professional School of Psychological Studies, a California state approved but not accredited graduate school in San Diego, California.
He has served as a pastor in both California and Oregon. He is presently a pastor at large for Reformation Fellowship in Eugene, Oregon.

His pastoral duties include: pastoral counseling, facilitating a support group for pastors, teaching bible classes and relationship seminars for local churches and para-church organizations. He writes article pertaining to relationships, spiritual issues and the gospel. In addition, Larry provides two-week intensives for pastors and their wives, and training seminars on "Learning from Conflict" for churches and businesses. Larry served with distinction while in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict.
For over thirty five years Larry has helped individuals, couples, teams and organizations navigate conflict and build productive patterns of communication. During that time Larry has built a reputation for his keen observation, insight, and honest approach to working with people. Larry uses his experience and teaching tools to train people how to learn from conflict, rather than avoid it. Leaders, teams and organizations say that through their work with Larry they're able to build mutual trust and increase productivity.

Christine Barber, LPC
Christine Barber, M.A., LPC, has had the profound privilege and responsibility of counseling individuals and couples for over 35 years. Through her extensive experience, she has developed a depth of understanding possible only through many thousands of hours of thoughtful listening, courageous processing, and compassionate caring, coupled with her commitment to self-discovery and personal growth as a way of life. In her safe and empathetic presence, people feel heard, seen, and insightfully understood. Christine is an effective and keenly intuitive therapist, humbled by the opportunity to help people heal, restoring hope and function to their lives.
Throughout the years, Christine has actively engaged in developing a broad knowledge base well beyond her formal graduate education in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University in California, and the requirements for a licensure, first in California, and later in Oregon, where she has practiced since 1989. She has been particularly inspired by Somatic Experiencing, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Relational, Trauma and Attachment Theory. These have allowed her to skillfully address accumulated and chronic fear, stress, and overwhelm, PTSD, and multiple other conditions, to help transform the impact of trauma on the body, mind and emotions, and relationships. Synthesizing these modalities, she has developed a therapeutic model: Relational Neuro-Somatic Therapy, (RNST).
In addition to counseling individuals and couples, Christine provides RNST case consultations, training therapists in classroom settings using an experiential teaching style, and informal professional supervision for interns and therapists. She leads relationship workshops with her husband of 38 years, pastoral counselor Larry Barber, facilitates women's groups, and teaches a wide variety of related courses. She is honored to be the mother of three adult children.
