Therapy for Teens
The transition from childhood to adulthood is not easy. Teenagers have to adapt quickly to fundamental changes in their physical appearance, hormonal chemistry, and social pressures while continuing to perform academically and function appropriately in relationship with their peers and their families. Our providers have special training and experience in providing individual and family therapy for teenagers.
We specialize in helping adolescents and their families cope with adjustment difficulties, developmental differences, ADHD, anger problems, anxiety, depression, decision-making difficulty, divorce, health challenges, parental conflict, preparing for the future, relationship issues, social challenges, split-family situations, stress management, and trauma exposure.
Providers at Charis Foundation aim to create a safe, comfortable and accepting environment for teens to feel free exploring their thoughts, feelings, struggles, successes, hopes and fears.
Religious, ethnic, and cultural differences are respected as our providers strive to help each unique individual build upon their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses. We focus on helping teens gain understanding of themselves, gain insight into and control over thier thought patterns, improve upon thier relationships with family and friends, cope effectively with thier current settings, and prepare for the possibilities and responsibilities of adult life.
Family involvement is encouraged to support each unique teen’s quest for growth and relational health. Our providers place emphasis on helping parents gain the skills necessary to encourage healthy development in their teens, advocate for their teen’s educational best-interest, reduce problematic behaviors, and cope effectively with family relational difficulties.
